Code of Ethics
At all times I shall:

Provide health care services consistant with and in accordane with the scope of qualification and standard of training.

Consider the health and wellbeing of the patient and have an understanding of the therapeutic nature of the patient and practitioner relationship.

Do no harm; a Practitioner shall do nothing that will injure the patient either physically or emotionally.

Maintain ethical standards. Show politeness, consideration, compassion and respect towards the client and conduct myself in a professioanl manner.

Show an appreciation of the diversity of human background and cultural values.

Listen to and identify the concerns of the patient, families and carers.

Present information accurately and clearly to a patient in accordance with good professioanl practice.

Respect the patients right to make decisions about their health care.

Refer patients to other health service practitioners as appropriate.

Continue self education to maintain currency of health care services.

Maintain Confidentiality of client information at all times. In any case where client information is shared there must first be consent from the client or the client’s legal guardian. Legal and contractual limits must be made clear to clients where appropriate.

Maintain a professional reputation based on integrity and ability.

Maintain a safe and hygienic practice environment.

Maintain and keep accurate up-to-date patient records in a secure and confidential manner

Place an appropriate value on professional services when determining any fee.

Abide by the code of professional ethics of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists.

Abide by the policies and rules of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists.

Comply with local, state and federal laws.
